What are your hours?

We're a seasonal shop and our hours move with the season and the weather, so we post the day's hours on our Facebook page rather than printing hours we'd have to break. Check there before you make the trip.

How many flavors do you have?

There are over a hundred flavors on our list across ice cream and sorbet. 39 of them are in the case on any given day, because the flavors rotate — so the one you had last time may not be there next time.

Do you make your own ice cream?

Yes. All of it is made on-site, fresh, in our own kitchen — we're a traditional American homemade ice cream shop, not a reseller. That's the whole point of the place.

Do you have dairy-free options?

Yes, all of our sorbets are dairy free and fat free, from Mango and Lemon through to Mimosa and Mountain Dew®.

Do you have anything nut free?

Accepted Answer

Many of our flavors contain no nuts, and we mark the ones that do. But we scoop from a shared case with shared utensils in a kitchen that handles nuts every day, so we can't promise any flavor is free of them. Please tell the staff about an allergy and they'll tell you honestly what they can and can't guarantee.

What is the Flavor of the Week?

Each week we make a unique creation and post it on our Facebook page. We usually only make a couple of batches, so check in often — once it's gone, it's gone.

What sizes do you offer?

Three: a Little Lick is one scoop, a Regular Lick is two, and a Big Lick is three. Our portions are large — visitors regularly warn each other in reviews that a large is genuinely large.

Can I take ice cream home?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We pack pints of any flavor in the case. Worth doing before you leave town, since the flavors rotate.

Do you have anything besides cones?

Plenty. Sundaes and specialty sundaes, banana splits, frappes, floats, freezes including one made with fresh chilled coffee, hand-dipped waffle cones and bowls, and freshly baked Cookie Monster ice cream sandwiches.

Are you hiring?

Usually, ahead of and during the summer season. You must be at least 15 for hourly work. Our team is fast-paced and friendly, and yes, you can eat the ice cream.

Can I open a Big Licks?

Yes — we franchise, and we're currently registered in 36 states. It starts with a phone call to our corporate office and ends with a Discovery Day at the flagship shop in Old Orchard Beach.
